While Tobin Lake and the waters bordering Scot's Landing are famous for fishing, there is lots to do and see for those who wish to pursue other activities.
Bird watching and wildlife viewing
Because your log cabin is on the banks of the Saskatchewan River, natural forest vegetation grows right up to the edge of your cabin and deck. Beaver, deer, moose and racoons wander around the Landing. Bald eagles, cormorants, pelicans, blue herons, Canada geese, many different ducks and a large variety of songbirds fly over the forest and river.
That means those who enjoy wildlife viewing or bird watching just don't run out of opportunities for their favourite activities. And don't forget the magnificent views of the northern lights, which are spectacular in fall and spring!
Canoeing
The Saskatchewan River and Tobin Lake provide a great place for canoeing. Explore the largely-undeveloped shorelines as you paddle to your heart's content... great exercise, and a great way to see nature up close.
Town of Nipawin
Across the river from Scot's Landing is the town of Nipawin, offering sightseeing and shopping opportunities. View the murals of Nipawin, dine out, do your shopping, or relax in the regional park which is in the town, right across the river from Scot's Landing.
For more details about things to see and do in Nipawin, visit the town web site.
